TOUR DESCRIPTION

Starting Time: 9:30 am - End Time: 11:00 am

Meeting Point: Kaura Bali

Drop off Point: Kaura Bali

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city to unwind in the cool air of Manggis village. Prepare your comfiest walking shoes and embark on a 1.30-hour trekking trip. The first phase of the trekking will lead clients through the charming village between authentic Balinese traditional houses – take the time to chat with the welcoming villagers.

The first stop will be at the palm winemaking house, owned by a humble couple who will show you how they climb the palm trees and harvest their juices. They collect the white juices that initially taste very sweet and non alcoholic before the fermentation process. Fermentation is done naturally by natural yeast in the air, and therefore, within 2 hours, it reaches a mild alcoholic content. The longer they ferment the wine, the higher the alcohol content.

Next, your English-speaking local guide will take you on an unusual trekking route in his village, less frequented and peaceful, unlike most routes in the main area of Bali. Trek through the rice fields until you reach the dense forest. Spot the exotic plants growing in this tropical climate, including coffee, cocoa, cloves, and sensational tasting fruits like durian or jackfruits.

Walk and stop at various points to appreciate the breath-taking scenery and the amazingly photogenic spots. Let your friendly local guide know when you want to take a break – the schedule is flexible, and the focus is on being easy-going. Navigating the dense trees, the path will take you to a natural crystalline pool where you can bathe, swim and chill. After some time for relaxation, continue walking to a local organic garden run by a local female farmer’s group. Learn about their project and their efforts to expand their sustainable farming methods. Many of these ladies were spa therapists before the pandemic. Now, working again in their local village, visitors to Manggis can benefit from the option of a foot massage after their hike.
