Main Attractions: + Cottage industries + Family Chapel + Kayak tour on the Thu Bon river + Traditional lunch
Includes: + Expert guide + Water + Snacks + Drinks + Lunch TOUR ITINERARY Start Time: 8 am – End Time: 2:30 pm Meeting Point/Ending Point: Discova Day Tour Shop Hoi An Address: 25 Dinh Tien Hoang , Hoi An 51308, Vietnam (look for the white house at the intersection) Meeting time at 7:45am .Our tour starts at the Discova Day Tour Shop located up a small alleyway off Hai Ba Trung Street at 8 am. Ancient District Our ride begins by exploring the hidden passageways and winding alleyways of UNESCO World Heritage Old Hoi An, stopping to photograph the iconic Japanese bridge. Countryside Exploration After crossing first, the canal bridge near the night market, we continue pedaling to the new metal bike bridge connecting Hoi An proper and its southern villages. Not far from the bridge, we visit a local family making Banh Dap using the traditional method. These small savory rice flour bowls are a common breakfast staple in the countryside. We continue riding to one of Hoi An's most beautiful villages, stopping at a family home to learn about the tradition of family chapels. Our host is nearly 90 and fought in the American war so he has plenty of stories for us! This is the kind of authentic connection we seek to provide on our tours. Next, we pedal past rice fields and vegetable farms along small canals and waterways towards a boat building site. Fishing is still the lifeblood of the province and the construction of these boats is quite amazing to witness and photograph. Artisans and Traditional Lunch The roads narrow again to concrete paths and our final stops include a traditional mat weaving shop and a family distillery where rice wine has been produced in the same manner for generations.
A delicious homemade lunch of Hoi An specialties will be served at a local house. After fueling up, we will cycle along the riverside and board the kayaks. Kayaking on the Thu Bon River Enjoy a paddle past water-coconut plantations, shrimp farms and little fishing hamlets. If you’re lucky, you can see the fishermen emptying their nets, which is a spectacular sight. On the way, we will make a stop at one of the little islands to rest and enjoy the views. We will arrive at the Cam Thanh area of Hoi An, from where our minivan will bring you back to the hotel by 2:30 pm. The day’s ride is mostly on small alleyways, quiet lanes, and flat tracks, all with no hills in sight. Beginner riders should take care while cycling short sections on small dirt trails. Begin your tour of Hoi An, a former trading port that welcomed Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab merchants between the 16th to 18th centuries. Its relaxed vibe and pedestrian streets make this town a pleasure to walk around and discover new things. The tour includes stops at several famous landmarks. The first is Chua Ong Pagoda, dating back to 1653 and built in honor of the Chinese general Quan Cong, who is worshipped by many as a symbol of loyalty and justice. Next, pop into Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, to see the Jinshang Temple which is dedicated to the goddess of the sea and the protector of sailors. From there it’s a short walk to Tan Ky House, a 200 year old ancestral house and finally, stroll across the often photographed 17th century covered bridge built by Japanese craftsmen. The beautifully built bridge doubles as a temple and is a major landmark of Hoi An. End your afternoon with a boat trip along Thu Bon River. TOUR DESCRIPTION
Main Attraction: + Scenic ride from Hoi An + Food tasting + Countryside market + My Son sanctuary What's Included: + Expert guide + Water + Snacks + Drinks + Light lunch + Ticket to My Son + Support van KIDS PRICES While we delight in Hoi An's picturesque surrounds on the way to My Son, our means of travel is half the fun. We ride the back roads and hidden trails only locals know to escape the traffic and tourists, experiencing a truly authentic side of this fascinating country
Please note: Due to the Annual TET holidays from January 20th to 26th January 2023, the Cycle My Son tour has a 25% surcharge. Our other Hoi An tours will be closed during these dates.
TOUR ITINERARY Start Time: 7:30 am – End Time: 3 pm Meeting Point: Discova Day Tour Shop Hoi An Address: 25 Dinh Tien Hoang , Hoi An 51308, Vietnam (look for the white house at the intersection) We'll gather at 7:15 in the morning at our conveniently located shop at intersection Dinh Tien Hoang Street. In town Cycling along small and quiet alleyways that are very pleasant to ride, we reach the riverfront of the historic district long before crowds descend on the city. Our guide will help you get your bearings in the center of town and point out the nearby historic sites. Countryside Crossing the river, we leave the city behind our wheels on our way to My Son, venturing off onto rural pathways accessible only to bikes and motorbikes. It's not long before we are pedaling through small villages, past family farms and rice fields, greeting friendly workers along our way. This is your best opportunity to glimpse authentic Vietnamese life. Depending on the season, we may pass rice, corn and even sunflower fields as we explore a very different landscape to that of the city. We'll hardly see any four-wheeled vehicles as we sneak through a network of shortcuts and connections that only locals would know. The Cham Ruins of My Son lie ahead. Snack Break & My Son ruins After replenishing our energy with a healthy snack of fresh fruit and local coffee or tea, it is a short transfer to the entrance to this UNESCO World Heritage site. New regulations require we park our bikes and board electric shuttle vans to the main ruins. The temples and towers of My Son were built by the Cham people, initially Hindu and later of Muslim faiths. The Cham Kingdom, once dominant in the region, was eventually conquered by the Vietnamese and Khmer. Descendants of the original tribes are now scattered throughout the region, mostly along inland waterways. This incredible site of ancient ruins is an exciting glimpse into Vietnam’s past. Transfer back to Hoi An A drive aboard our private van with a midway stop for a simple but delicious lunch of local noodles tops off a fun, informative half day tour. This ride is mainly on back alleyways, flat tracks and small roads - there are no hills so anyone who can reasonably ride a bike can do this tour. There are a few small sections on dirt trails where beginner riders will have to show some care. Emergency Phone Number

Evening Bike & Food Tour of Hoi An A culinary adventure through quaint alleyways & beautiful countryside, sampling the signature dishes of Hoi An. Gentle cycling, great satisfaction! Main attractions: + Banh Mi with “the Queen” + Local BBQ + Cao Lau class + Sizzling Rice pancakes + Vietnamese Craft Beers + Vegetarian options Includes: + Expert guide + Dinner + Water + Snacks + Drinks Staying in the nearby resort town of Da Nang? No problem we cater for departures from here too! Itineraries follow the same route and special pricing is fully inclusive of transfers to and from your hotel in the city. Make sure to follow the link below to book this tour departing from Da Nang. Please note: The Hoi An Food Tour by Bike will not operate Jan 23th to 28th due to the Annual TET holidays. We apologize for any inconvenience. TOUR ITINERARY Start Time: 3:45 pm – End Time: 8 pm Meeting: Discova Day Tour Bike Shop: 25 Dinh Tien Hoang , Hoi An 51308, Vietnam. (Look for the white house at the intersection) Designed by local staff who have grown up in the region, this tour introduces you to specially selected signature dishes served on small or shared plates. We want you to experience a range of food and not feel weighed down after one stop. We promise that you won't go away hungry, but will feel you've experienced a true taste of Hoi An. We will discover some of the traditional dishes of this city, including: Banh Mi Park your bikes to try the signature Vietnamese sandwich hand-made by royalty, the Banh Mi Queen. This savory sandwich on a small baguette is flavorful and fresh. Cao Lau Next we’ll cycle to a small private home in the organic village to taste this home-cooked noodle dish steeped in a savory broth that's been described as part soup, part salad and uniquely Hoi An. At this home, you'll assist in gathering herbs from the garden to compliment your meal. An authentic Vietnamese food experience! Banh Xeo No food tour in Hoi An is complete without this sizzling rice pancake delicacy. We’ll pedal to a local restaurant where you will be welcomed like family and dine as the residents do. Cheese, Beer & Wine Cycle off the previous dishes to make room for our next stop. The French influenced many culinary traditions in Vietnam, including cheese making. A renaissance of late has resulted in new, quality cheese products. We pair these with Vietnam’s award-winning craft beer and a superb rice wine for an unexpected treat. Hoi An BBQ with a View As night falls, locals flock to small restaurants along the river for diners of freshly grilled meats and seafood. We've selected a fun, tasty spot with views of the historic quarter, where we’ll dismount our bikes for a tasty meal. Savor authentic Vietnamese outdoor style BBQ featuring delicious fresh seafood, pork and grilled vegetables. Surprises! We balance our longer stops with a few quick bites and tasty treats en route. Our tour ends in a quiet coffee shop with sweets and a few last words with your guides and fellow foodies. Riding a bike allows us to move away from the densely packed city center to stalls, restaurants and private homes for delightful food. Our food tour route features quiet alleyways, countryside pathways and select city streets. There is some city riding but you'll learn that Hoi An residents are mindful of bikes and our guides will ensure your safety along the way. Routes can change depending on weather but the tour is approximately 15k. The tour will conclude at approximately 8:00 pm. Emergency Phone Number

TOUR DESCRIPTION
Starting Time: 5.00 pm - End Time: 8:00 pm Meeting Point: Discova Hoi An Office: 25 Dinh Tien Hoang, Ward Tan An, Hoi An, Quang Nam Start your tour with a 'banh mi' (sandwich), at Madam Khanh’s – the best fusion between French and Vietnamese cuisine. Then, try out the famous delicate white rose dumplings, found exclusively in Hoi An. Enjoy these delicacies while marveling at the work that goes into them. The staff churns out up to 6000 of these dumplings every day, and each one is as beautiful as the one before. Your visit here includes a chance to try making a few of your own dumplings, too! Next, experience the famous 'banh xeo Hoi An', which is a cousin of the Saigon crêpe, but smaller (and perhaps even tastier). Here you will also have the opportunity to try cao lau, one of the most refined soups in Vietnam: pork and greens on a bed of rice noodles, made from rice which has been soaked in lye water. Down a nearby alley, head onward to visit a 250-year-old ancient house. This is your chance to step inside a traditional Hoi An home and see how the locals live (and eat, if you are lucky enough to visit during their dinner time)! Stroll around the house, spending time with the host to learn about his life. Before moving onwards, visit his workshop, where his skillful hands spend hours creating sophisticated and creative silver jewelry. Finally, rap up your tour with a sweet note with a local specialty, green bean cake, and enjoy a local Vietnamese coffee – the perfect ending to any meal.
