TOUR DESCRIPTION

Operate: Daily

Starting Time: 9:00 am-Ending Time: 1.00pm

Meeting Point: Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur Lobby

Start your morning with DISCOVA on an easy and relaxed visit to Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic landmark. This half-day tour avoids city traffic by using the monorail and train, so you can focus on the experience rather than the journey. Along the way, enjoy a light local breakfast at a traditional kopitiam, visit a hidden temple in the city, and finish with a classic banana leaf lunch.

The tour begins at the lobby of PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur, where you meet your guide and group. Start with a short ride on KL’s monorail, offering a glimpse of the city from above as you travel toward the Little India area. Here, step off to explore on foot and visit a small, lesser-known temple hidden among the streets, a reminder of how different cultures coexist closely in the city. Nearby, enjoy a light local breakfast at a traditional kopitiam, a classic Malaysian coffee shop where locals gather for coffee, tea, and simple morning snacks.

From here, continue by train to Batu Caves, one of Malaysia’s most important Hindu pilgrimage sites. The walk from the station passes stalls selling flowers, spices, and offerings used for worship. At the base of the staircase stands the towering golden statue of Lord Murugan, the deity to whom Batu Caves is dedicated. Climb the colourful steps into the limestone cave and spend time inside the shrine while your guide explains how the site is used for daily worship.

After the visit, return to the city by train. Along the way, your guide shares stories of Thaipusam, revealing how Batu Caves transforms from a tourist stop into a living, breathing pilgrimage site once a year. Back in Kuala Lumpur, arrive in the Jalan Masjid India area. This busy district is shaped by the Muslim Indian community and feels very different from both Little India and Batu Caves. Walk past textile shops and markets before sitting down for lunch. We'll end the tour with a traditional banana leaf rice lunch at a local restaurant. Served on a fresh banana leaf with rice, curries, vegetables, and condiments, this meal is a classic South Indian–Malaysian experience and a satisfying way to finish the morning.

Cancellation: There is no charge if any cancelation made 24 hours before the travel date.
